Kahuzi Biega National Park has a tourist visa for its visitors (100 USD) which facilitates entry into the Democratic Republic of Congo for a stay of 14 days. International non-resident tourists hoping to visit the PNKB have to obtain a vise beforehand from an Embassy or Consulate of the DRC in their country of residence. The requirements and guidelines to obtain this visa may change regularly. To properly organize your trip, we recommend you first consult the Consulate of the DRC nearest you for more information.

All you have to do is to send us a copy for your passport, then fill in the above formula. We will provide you with an invitation letter then we proceed your visa locally. You will 50USD to have 14 days in Bukavu. It’s applicable for Kahuzi Biega and Virunga national park.

Prerequisites

International non-residents: submission of a valid passport and a visa issued by a consular authority (do not forget your health record and verify that your vaccinations against yellow fever are up-to-date prior to your arrival in DRC).

International residents of DRC or CEPGL, CEAC, SADC zones: submission of a valid passport along with a work, residency or courtesy visa.

Students: submission of a student I.D. valid throughout the year

Nationals: submission of a valid voter registration card Youth: ages 15 to 17 (gorilla watching)

Youth: ages 10 to 17 (hiking, camping and climbing)

To get it :

Book and pay for your gorilla tour.
Download our visa application form;
Fill in and send it back to us (reservation@kahuzi-biega.org) directly with a copy of your passport;
We will send you an invitation letter and;
When you arrive at the Rwandan Congolese border, you show your invitation letter and pay cash 100 US dollars.

VISA

Non-resident foreign tourists wishing to visit the PNKB must first obtain a visa from the DRC Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence. The requirements and regulations for obtaining this visa may change regularly. To properly organize your trip, please first consult the nearest DRC consulate for more information.

You can obtain a tourist visa by completing the form below and then sending us a copy of the passport. We will send you an invitation letter and process your visa here on site in Bukavu. The visa costs 50 USD for 14 days in Bukavu.

General Visit Conditions

  • Walk in the forest
  • Hiking shoes
  • Pants and long-sleeved shirts
  • Polar/waterproof/windproof
  • Be in generally good health
  • Never leave waste materials on your route (cigarette butts, plastic bags, papers, empty bottles.)
  • Keep a minimal distance of 8m when visiting the gorillas
  • Never be tempted to feed any animal that is encountered (particularly primates)
  • Do not smoke in the bush
  • Speak quietly in the forest
  • Follow every instruction given by the accompaniers of the park (guides and/or guards)
